How we give back
The Indelible Grant.
One percent of what we earn, turned back into free web work for organizations making their corner of the world better.
Good work should not stay invisible for lack of a budget.
Every year we set aside one percent of our revenue and put it back into the world as free work for mission-driven organizations. We call it the Indelible Grant. It is not a marketing line or a once-a-year photo opportunity. It is a standing line in the budget, the same way payroll is.
The reasoning is simple. We are good at making an organization easier to find, understand, and choose. Some of the groups that need that most are the ones least able to pay for it. The grant is how we close a little of that gap.
What the grant covers.
-
A real website.
A strategy-first build, done the same way we would do it for any paying client. Not a stripped-down template handed over to check a box.
-
Ongoing help.
The grant is not only for new sites. It can fund the continued work that keeps a site healthy, current, and growing over time, which is usually where mission-driven groups run out of road.
-
Hosting.
Several organizations run on the grant as hosting, so a site we believe in stays online and fast without the monthly bill landing on a tight budget.
Who it is for
We choose the same way we always do.
By character and by mission, not by size or sector. Organizations run by good people, doing work that leaves things better than they found them.
Right now, the grant is full.
We are currently a little over our own one-percent line. That is a good problem. Several organizations are already on the grant, and we would rather be over the line on this than under it.
That means we are not taking new grant requests at the moment. When room opens up, this is where it will be announced.
Doing work that matters?
Even with the grant full, we like knowing the organizations out there doing real good. Tell us about yours, and if a fit opens up, we will remember.
